Complete collection of children's books written by Greene in a series of four books in collaboration with Dorothy Glover, who appeared under the pseudonym “Dorothy Craigie.” Greene would later acknowledge authorship of the first of these children’s books, "The Little Train," on the title page of The "Little Fire Engine." Greene and Glover became lovers and lived together for much of the war, each working as fire spotters and Dorothy as a bomb shelter warden, while Greene's wife Vivien and their children lived in safety in Oxford. Obling, quarto, pictorial cloths with rust spot on endpaper from binding staples of "The Little Train," which has a previous owner name on top corner of the front endpaper. In price clipped, second state dust wrapper, with reviews to the front flap. Dust jacket has 5 very small edge chips. , 10" - 7¼". "The Little Fire Engine" has small closed, edge tears and chips, not price-clipped (6s. net), first edition, first impression, 10" - 7¼". "The Little Horse Bus" has a bit of faint foxing to the edges of the dust jacket flaps, in fine condition otherwise. First impression, 7½" - 8¾". "The Little Steamroller" is in near fine condition with a bit of edge wear and a closed tear to the back panel. First impression, 7½" - 8¾".
