Make Way For Ducklings

The official children's book of Massachusetts, McCloskey won the 1942 Caldecott Medal for his illustrations of the ducks sketched with Boston backgrounds, executed in charcoal then lithographed on zinc plates. First Edition, First Printing with the words "First Published August 1941" printed on the copyright page. This First Issue dustjacket has the $2.00 price and NO Caldecott Medal on the front flap or front panel; it is chipped at the top and bottom of the spine. Binding is solid, endpapers with some darkening to the edges and a few stains to the endpapers. Pages are very clean with a few spots to the title and half-title pages only. Provenance: front endpaper with old rubber stamp "Camp Kehonka Wolfeboro, New Hampsire." A very nice first printing at a discount.
